Born regular

Just the regular way

On a regular day

As I grew, I magically changed

Marks on my body anew

It was true

The dragon came

His fire spread down my arm

My chest

Splitting me in two

My mother cried

As the ink had dried

Proof of a deal in the womb

I stumbled through time

Aging into my prime

Maybe this world was mine

The reason I’d been hidden

The things that were written

Deeds they said I would do

My mother never dared

My father never cared

And so the earth was sewn

Filled with the fallen

A manipulated lot

At the pulpit I would stand

A dutiful girl

Born in the winter

Seated at the holiest left hand
